Ben Mirza
Ben was born and raised in Sydney’s East. His childhood experiences especially at his Father’s snooker billiards club in Randwick in the 1980’s surrounded by snooker tables, pinball and arcade machines, Ben gained an appreciation for colour and sign writing on the machines and shops
This developed into pencil and marker drawings of buildings, geometric shapes, colour, architectural sociography / shadows and photography, influenced by the bauhaus and modern architecture , street art/culture and music
In the mid 90’s, Ben started in the window & architectural glazing trade., while studying interior design in the evening at Enmore Design Centre . Ben has worked on many well known buildings such as Harry Seidlers - MLC Building, Australia Square, Horizon and Cove; Engelen Moore’s- Altair ,Ikon (once the Chevron Hotel); The Gazebo and others.
These experiences combined helped him to understand every facet of materials , shapes, junctions, depth and detail - evident in his works.
