Bridy is a 28-year-old queer artist hailing from Woonona, NSW. she has always harboured a deep passion for art and music. While these creative pursuits have long been cherished, it's only in recent years that Bridy has mustered the confidence to share them with the world. Art, for Bridy, serves as both an escape and a surrender, a journey where intuition and imagination intertwine.
Driven by a mission to normalise diverse body representations and advocate for mental health awareness, Bridy's artistic journey has been deeply personal. Having grappled with depression and anxiety for the majority of their life, 2020 marked a particularly challenging period. It was during this time of darkness that Bridy created their inaugural 'Face' art piece, igniting a series of subsequent creations that became a sanctuary. Through art, Bridy learned to relinquish the pursuit of perfection and embrace the journey itself.
In addition to visual art, Bridy channels their creativity into music as a singer-songwriter, finding solace and strength in this complementary form of expression.
Utilising acrylic paints, polychromous colour pencils, canvas, and wood, Bridy's artistic vision aims to inspire openness to the evolving world and foster self-acceptance and love. Each piece is a celebration of uniqueness, a reminder that diversity is what makes us truly wonderful.
