Clement Ffrench

Tell me about colour?

I see colour as a reflection of hope and vitality. Why would one focus on colour's negative side or even rules of gender? I see no rules on how it is applied. Sure, there's that fabulous Japanese book of colour by Seigensha and then there are also intuitive surprises that are equally as important. Colour affects the mood of the space we live in and it can hold memories. Colour is what it feels like to be human.

What colour are you?

If I was to be a colour I would be light pink. It's calming and joyous.

Lets talk about Purple?

The colour Purple is often misunderstood. Most view purple as a nauceus grape or pompous regal. I see purple as a neutral. Purple pairs with most colours a lot more than what a colourist would suggest. I am particularly found of light purple paired with chocolate brown.

At the age of fifty-five, Clement Ffrench, hailing from a lineage of distinguished artists in New Zealand, has spent the last decade cultivating his artistry and learning the violin in Sydney. Alongside his role in disability support, he utilises vibrant hues, whimsical imagery, and botanical motifs to convey a powerful message of self-empowerment. Presently, he is engrossed in crafting a novella titled "Paisley and the Forest of Tears," aimed at aiding individuals entrenched in people-pleasing tendencies. Reflecting on his creative journey, Clement embraces the words of Gustav Klimt, who remarked, "Art is a line around your thoughts."
