Henry Xiang

Henry Xiang's art practice takes the philosophical connotations of material elements in different historical contexts of East and West. It also combines the ingenious use of materials with different cultural characteristics such as Chinese ink and Western oil paint. From detailed microscopic perspective realism to abstract style exploring the beauty of organisms, his work creates a peaceful, positive and imaginative space to construct a vivid Utopian world for a harmonious relationship between human and non-human.

Henry Xiang graduated with a bachelor's degree 23 years ago, Born in Wuhan, China. Henry now lives and creates on Gadigal and Wangal country in the inner west of Sydney, NSW. Currently studying for his Master's Degree in Fine Art at the National Art School in Darlinghurst.
