KADE

Simon Murray's kickstart to life came to be in 1970. I was thrust into a unique and somewhat volatile environment of inner city Redfern in my childhood.

Through all the chaos, painting and drawing have forever been my constant companion.

I have embraced my life's experiences, coupled them with my love of letters and colour, twisting and manipulating them and putting them on paper, walls and trains.

My latest artworks see me harnessing newfound inspiration and travelling into a long held fascination of erotic art. Using a combination of acrylic paint, markers and spray paint I found the recipe to create sweet candy. Kade is a Sydney based graffiti artist, born and bred in the inner city suburb of Redfern.

His graffiti journey started in 1984, learning the ropes of a very competitive and colourful subculture. He draws on original 1970’s and 1980’s subway art from NYC for inspiration.

KADE has been a constantly active participant in the Sydney graffiti scene for 35 years. He also undertakes commercial work, murals, commissioned and custom artwork.
