Liam Nunan

Liam is a Sydney based artist-painter.

Having worked as an actor for over a decade, he began painting in 2018 and went on to win the Lester Prize that following year. Primarily self taught and best known for his portraiture, his application as a painter changes from day to day - from carefully constructed narratives to gestural and emotionally intuitive responses.

Earlier last year Liam won the Brisbane Portrait Prize’s Packer’s Award.

He has been a finalist in the Brisbane Prize, The Darling Prize, the Salon Des Refuse, the Muswellbrook Art Prize and the Evelyn Chapman Award. He was a finalist for the 2022 Doug Moran Portrait Prize and the Dobell Drawing Prize.
