“Whilst I’ll always acknowledge proudly my foreign bloodlines - Chinese, Irish and Filipino it is only the aboriginal side that has shaped me.”

Louise was raised in a Rettadixon Home - a compound for mixed race children, surrounded on four sides by barbed wire fences.

Her career saw her perform as an actress and she is also a poet, going by the name Aileen Corpus. Louise worked as a journalist with the ABC in Townsville, she had a fundamental role assisting with the creation of Aboriginal And Torres Strait Radio stations.

Her life journey took her on many adventures that included: prawning on the Golf of Carpentaria - cooking on cattle stations in the Kimberley’s.
When Louise came to Sydney 20 years ago,  she turned her had to painting and she explores western approaches to aboriginal art
