Welcome to Metaphor where nothing is quite what it seems. Where even symbols mean different things to different people. A voyage into a magic world awaits which may be better than the one you are in or one that may mirror the fears we all share. @matthewflood68

As a kid of the sixties Matthew was more fascinated by the Saturday morning cartoons which led to his love of Marvel and DC comic characters. As an adult he still has those interests, in addition he is drawn to underground British and American artists. Coupling his obsession with pop culture and his interest in primitive man and animals - he creates themes that reflect both worlds crossing over. Art and human history, infused with dinosaurs, aliens, robots and monsters.

Matthew has been influenced by Sci Fi, horror movies and mags , inspired by Jack Kirby, Jim Steranko, Chris Welch and Hanna-Barbera, including political stencil art from counterculture publications. Using vibrant colours, Matt works mostly with pens and pencils (including - collage and acrylic paint) on paper.
