(Abstract)
A noun denoting an idea, quality, or state rather than a concrete object.
The main purpose of abstraction in art is not to tell a story, but to encourage involvement and imagination.
This art form has as its main objective to provide viewers with an intangible and emotional experience, being completely different for each individual, depending on their personality and mood.
Abstract art is art that does not represent an accurate depiction of visual reality, communicating instead through lines, shapes, colours, forms and gestural marks.
Ali’s journey into the abstraction is an adventure in free expression. It’s spontaneity is quite primal. It is honest and comes from within.
She uses a variety of techniques to create her work, mixing traditional means and often more unexpected and experimental ideas.
It has been a pleasure to be her mentor and tutor for the past 4 years.Rex W Turnbull FRSA
