VICTORIA MONK

Victoria Monk was a finalist in The Biennial Project Venice Biennial 2022. Victoria has been a multi media artist for 35 years in performance, community arts, an exhibitor of printmaking and sculpture and a finalist in the Adelaide Perry Drawing Prize 2020. Monk was awarded first prize Northern Beaches Sculpture 2018, first prize 2017/18 Bowral Sculpture show, first prize for sculpture Hunters Hill Art 2015 and Amnesty International 2001.

Her sculptures were highly commended Bowral Sculpture and Greenway 2019. Monk”s sculptures have been selected for exhibition such as Sculpture in the Gardens Wollongong Botanical Gardens (2021 & 2023), Tom Bass Figurative Prize, North Sydney, Hunters Hill, Blake Prize, HarbourSculpture, Hillview Southern Highlands (NSW), Canberra Grammar School, Ravenswood Women’s Art prize, Sculpture in the Vines and South Sydney Sculpture Symposium. Her works have been sold to Menzies Foundation and to private collectors. In 1985/86 Monk received grants from the Australia Council for the Arts and Northern Territory Arts Council and in 1987 was awarded a Professional Development grant from the Community Cultural Development Board of the Australia Council. Victoria has a Masters of Creative Arts, Wollongong University and Fine Arts Diploma, Meadowbank TAFE.
